The Mayfields is a truly modern facility with features that makes it stand out from many traditional care homes. These include spaciousness with extra wide corridors, abundant lounge areas allowing for privacy with friends or relatives, generously proportioned bedrooms with en-suite shower facilities, a bespoke hair salon, generous natural lighting and elegant interior design, which all combine for a homely feel.
If you need help or advice, feel free to get in touch.
The Mayfields is over two floors. Primrose is on the ground floor and offers residential care. Bluebell is located on the first floor and accommodates those with dementia care needs. The first floor is accessible via two large lifts. Each wing has been sympathetically designed around the needs of its residents. Primrose, with its numerous lounges and sitting areas and access to external gardens, creates a warm, inviting and homely environment. Bluebell has a similar layout but is decorated in specially selected colours and themes to allow residents to feel at ease. Bluebell also offers a trip down 'Memory Lane' to promote reminiscence therapy and support residents' overall wellbeing.
Our dedicated activities team
Meaningful daily activities are arranged by our dedicated activities team to keep residents active and stimulated. Residents can enjoy the landscaped gardens at leisure through the patio doors either from their bedrooms or lounge areas. Raised flower beds allow our 'green fingered' residents to enjoy gardening with ease. And life skill independence is promoted to residents who wish to do tasks like washing up, making cups of tea and preparing snacks for themselves
Delicious Nutritionally Balanced Food
Our delicious nutritionally balanced food is cooked using fresh produce. A choice of menu is available every day and special diets are catered for. Another great benefit is having Long Stratton Medical Practice with its dispensing pharmacy on site.
" Since moving mother from a care home without a Dementia bias, her physical and mental facilities have improved enormously. I.E from a selfish viewpoint is to see mother in matching clothing, yes a silly thing but mother was always proud of her appearance, even though she may not be aware.
I now do not worry about her safety. The staff I have met in the last two weeks have been 'on the ball' regarding care and have been very professional

" We find a welcoming atmosphere for the family when we visit and a happy environment for my husband which gives us some peace of mind to know that he is well cared for."

" I find the staff extremely helpful. They have a pretty thankless task and their devotion to their jobs is exemplary. They always appear friendly and have always known my name since my mother has been there. That really is a bonus as they also know what seems to be bothering us. I try hard to help with the fundraising days and hopefully it does make a difference."
