Our care homes
In each of our high-quality care homes, we support our residents with expertise, compassion and respect for their dignity – as if they were our own family. We listen to their comments and wishes about the running of the care home.
A care home provides accommodation, along with assistance with activities of daily living. Care homes may also be described as nursing homes, old folks' homes, residential or personal care homes. Care homes are usually more personal than other care facilities and our residents always have their own rooms while sharing common areas. Residents can also have pets and couples can be together in one room if required.
At Castlemeadow Care, our facilities in Norfolk and Suffolk offer standard residential care alongside specialised nursing care, elderly care and dementia care . Each of our care homes also offer short term respite care for care givers who need someone to look after a loved one for a few days to a few weeks.
Since 1999, our care homes have taken great pride in offering assisted retirement living and care support to residents across Norfolk and Suffolk in our homes in Norwich, Swaffham, Long Stratton, Swanton Morley, near Dereham, North Wootton, near King's Lynn and in Halesworth.

Lincoln House
Lincoln House is nestled in landscaped gardens in the village of Swanton Morley near Dereham in Norfolk. It has a peaceful courtyard featuring sunshades, benches and raised flowerbeds. All our rooms are furnished to a high standard and most are en suite with a connection for TV, Wi-Fi and a telephone. We have four comfortable lounges and several smaller seating areas.

Highfield House
Highfield House is a beautiful home in the village of Halesworth in Suffolk, close to the coastal town of Southwold. The home provides comfortable ensuite bedrooms and lovely communal dining and lounge areas. We provide short-term and longer term residential care at the home, including support for people living with dementia.

Wyndham House is a beautiful old manor house set in the Norfolk countryside in the small village of North Wootton just outside the ancient market town of Kings Lynn. Perfectly situated the home is only seven miles from Sandringham and 14 miles from the popular seaside resort of Hunstanton.

Norfolk Care Awards 2022
The Norfolk Care Awards showcase excellence and demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellence and quality care and support services across Norfolk.
In November 2022, Faith Branigan from St John's House was delighted to be recognised as the Winner of the Rising Start category at the awards for her outstanding work as a new carer. We were also shortlisted in two other categories at the Awards: The Mayfields for the Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) award and St John's House for the End of Life care award.
Great British Care Awards 2022 - East of England
The GB Care Awards celebrate g excellence throughout the care industry and recognising team efforts across the UK. In November 2022, Faith Branigan from St John's House in Norwich was shortlisted in the Care Newcomer category and Lincoln House in Swanton Morley, near Dereham was shortlisted in the Care Home Team category. We are very proud of all our teams.
National Association of Care Catering Awards 2022
Chris Midgeley, our chef at St John's House in Norwich was shortlisted in the Midlands region of the NACC Care Chef of the Year Competition.
Caring UK Awards 2021
St John's House in Norwich won the End of Life Team category at the 2021 Caring UK Awards which recognise excellence and achievement within the care sector across the UK.
The judges were impressed by how the team focused on providing the most compassionate end of life care they can, including areas such as end of life planning for residents. They recognised how the team had demonstrated compassion, kindness and dignity towards the end of a person’s life.
